Editor’s note: Part two in a series on how the Covid-19 pandemic has affected Hofstra University students personally.
My name is Amanda Geffner, and I am a junior majoring in journalism and minoring in fine arts. I am from Morristown, N.J. When I am studying at Hofstra University, I live with my grandparents, in Roslyn, which is close to campus.
I am a very involved student at Hofstra, even though I live off campus. I work for Admissions, produce two shows at WRHU, and run two social media accounts for the station. While in quarantine, I am still working for WRHU and doing open houses for Hofstra.
At home, I have really been focusing on my school work, and in my class, Multimedia Journalism Video, I recorded a vlog of what I have been up to ever since Hofstra closed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s been tough adjusting to quarantine, but social distancing is really important at this time.
People can still give back to the community while doctors and nurses are helping patients fight off the virus. Everyone needs to do their part by staying home, and that is the main focus of this video. Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe at this time.
At home with a doctor — lots of sanitizing
