New Yorkers and people from across the country spent two days last month assembling an estimated 9 million food packs in 24 cities. Volunteers from both corporate and nonprofit groups came together to form assembly lines to fill bags with rice, lentils and dehydrated vegetables. Volunteers honored the memory of their loved ones who died 24 years ago in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Many now are looking to the future to find new ways to help their neighbors.
