Seven years ago, the nation was shaken by the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. One of the 17 victims was Scott. J Beigel, a beloved teacher and cross-country coach.

Scott’s mother, Linda Beigel Schulman, turned her grief into a powerful mission. Just two days after his passing, she established the Scott. J Beigel Memorial Fund to honor his memory.

Gabrielle Yanovitz recently had the privilege of talking to Linda to discuss the foundation’s incredible work. The fund is dedicated to advocated for common-sense gun reform legislation and sending underserved child touched by gun violence to summer camp, giving them experiences Scott cherished.
