Frost Ceramics and Mercantile opened in Sea Cliff, on Long Island’s North Shore, in 2020 after Christopher Frost lost his job because of the coronavirus pandemic. He and his wife, Kimberle Frost, opened the studio and shop at 256 Sea Cliff Ave., where Christopher Frost makes and sells his ceramics, as well as offers classes and open studio sessions.
Sea Cliff hosts the shops of several local artists and artisans. As Glen Head residents, Frost said, it made sense to establish the shop in a neighboring community. Crafting ceramics has been his hobby for about 10 years.
Kimberle Forst, a textile designer, sells her merchandise at Frost Ceramics and Mercantile as well. She has also recently begun selling her textiles at K. DiResta Collective just down the street, at 212 Sea Cliff Ave.
