On “Morning Wake Up Call” on 88.7FM WRHU, the Wednesday crew sat down recently with Dan McMillan, founder and leader of Save Democracy in America. With his background as an historian, former history professor and prosecuting attorney, McMillan brings unbiased and down-the-middle viewpoints on the state of American democracy.

His campaign, Save Democracy in America, is dedicated to curbing the influence of big money in politics through a reform initiative called Voter Dollars. Given his commitment to creating a more representative government, McMillan offered insights into the recent 2024 Presidential election, in which Donald Trump reclaimed the presidency in a race that has sparked widespread debate.

McMillan gave his personal thoughts on the election, offering insight to whether the race played out the way as he thought it would. He broke down what worked and did not work for both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump’s campaigns. He pointed out that reducing division among voters requires not only political outreach but also systemic change.
